ABEOKUTA— Men of Ogun State Police Command have arrested a pastor and three other suspects in connection with the discovery of human parts buried inside his church in Ota.
The state’s Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, who paraded the cleric yesterday in Ota, said the arrested 77-year-old prophet, Babatunde, is the founder of a white garment Church at Itedo Isinmi Ayo Parish, Egan Road in Iyana-Iyesi area of Ota.
The Police boss, who conducted newsmen round the Church’s premises, said the discovery followed the arrest, on Saturday, of a suspected serial kidnapper, Adeola.
As indicated by Iliyasu, Adeola, 32, who has some expertise in capturing kids, had admitted that the prophet of the white piece of clothing church was the recipient of the stole kids.
The Police Commissioner included that a 43-year-old botanist, Afolabi, was among the suspects, who supposedly covered the human parts at the passageway of the congregation.
He stated: "Police agents joined to the Area Command in Ota, on Sunday, got specialized insight about Adeola and in the long run caught him.
"On the quality of the knowledge, investigators from Ota Area Command were point by point to impact the capture of the suspect; and at around 10:20a.m., their endeavors paid off when the said Adeola was captured.
"On cross examination, he admitted being a serial criminal and said a prophet of a white article of clothing church as the collector of the grabbed kids.
"Upon his disclosure, he was taken to the house/church of the said prophet at Iyana-Iyesi Ota, where one Prophet Babatunde, 77, a minister responsible for the congregation and one Afolabi, 42, a conventional admirer, were captured.
"The floor of the congregation was uncovered as portrayed by the primary suspect, and parts suspected to be human parts were found."
The Commissioner said the Command will direct criminological examination concerning the case and guaranteed that every one of those discovered blameworthy of the wrongdoing will be conveyed to equity.
