Sad Note :Rainstorm killed 1, destroys About 100 houses in Sokoto




One individual kicked the bucket while more than 100 houses were devastated when rainstorm cleared through 15 towns in Illela Local Government Area of Sokoto State, Alhaji Abdullahi Haruna, the Council Chairman told newsmen on Sunday in Illela. 

Haruna said seven different people, including a mother and her three kids, supported different degrees of wounds amid the rainstorm which occurred on Friday. 

He included that six out of the harmed people had been released from clinic after treatment. 

As per him, the neighborhood government board secretariat, schools and other open spots are among the structures devastated by the tempest. 

He included that "the solid wind and overwhelming precipitation begun around 5 p.m. on Friday and gone on for 30 minutes, yet the harm it caused was gigantic. 

"Up until this point, we have possessed the capacity to recognize more than 100 houses pulverized by the rainstorm. 

"A council has been set up to evaluate the degree of the harm." 

The administrator ascribed the degree of the obliteration on the utilization of substandard building materials for working in the zone. 

He, in this way, coordinated the Works Department of the neighborhood government to guarantee that individuals consented to the standard building directions forthwith. 

He said the board had reached the State Emergency Management Agency and the National Emergency Management Agency for help to the casualties.

The Head of Sokoto Zonal Operations of NEMA, Mr Suleiman Muhammad, expressed that the organization had been informed about the debacle.
