A 30-year-old man affirmed to be working in an illegal clinic and infected a 6-year-old kid with HIV through transfusion of unscreened blood has been captured by the Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC).
The state Commandant of NSCDC, Mr Lawan Bashir-Kano, revealed yesterday in Lafia that the suspect, Jonathan Ibrahim, was captured on July 17Monday.
He said that Ibrahim, who hails from Iwashi town in Doma Local Government Area of the state, was captured following protest about his exercises from individuals from the general population.
Bashir-Kano said preparatory examinations uncovered that the suspect, who works an unregistered center, a year ago, transfused debased blood to the 6-year-old kid, accordingly tainting him with HIV.
He said the guardians of the kid as of late found that he had been contaminated with the infection.
