Kuje Prison Gut Burnt Some Rescued




   Detainees and Prison officials were on Friday thrown into panic and confusion as an area of the Kuje Prison went on fire.

   The fire which went on for more than 15 minutes gutted a center area of the jail after officers of the Nigeria Prisons Service (NPS) on obligation attempted to put it out with a few fire dousers. 

    A source who guaranteed to be an observer couldn't affirm what caused the fire and the degree of harm done yet affirmed that no life was lost.

    Responding to the episode, the NPS, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Command Public Relations Officer, Humphrey Chukwuedo, who affirmed the fire flare-up, advised newsmen that examination was on to uncover the reason for the fire. 

   Chukwuedo stated: "It really happened at around 4pm yesterday. Examination is still on to learn the reason for the fire. Be that as it may, the fire has been put off. No life was lost and no property was pulverized. 

   "Our men were proactive to put off the fire. It will likewise intrigue you to realize that no detainee was on affirmation or getting treatment at the time. We have bolted up all detainees and they were at that point in their cells. 

   "This was really what happened. Also, regularity has come back to the jail."
